There are artists who choose between words and music. Hüsnü Arkan has never had to.
From 1993 to 2010, he was the voice, lyricist, and composer behind Ezginin Günlüğü — one of the most beloved and enduring acts in Turkish music history. Songs like Zerdaliler and Ebruli became part of a generation’s memory, carried not only by their melodies but by the weight of the words beneath them. Because Arkan is, before anything else, a poet. And a novelist — one whose literary work earned him the prestigious Orhan Kemal Novel Award.
His relationship with Europe is not new. Amsterdam and Köln were part of his world long before this tour — and in January 2027, he returns to both cities to perform two exclusive concerts for the first time in years.
These are rare evenings. Intimate, unhurried, and lit by the kind of connection that only live music can create — when a songwriter who has lived as much as he has written takes the stage and means every word.
